Dr. Audrey

Corey had a suspicious mole removed at the end of December and it required treatment every morning and every night for about two weeks.  The spot was impossible for him to reach so I helped him at first.  That is until our little future doctor decided she'd take over.  Audrey is a fantastic comforter in a crisis, intrigued by all things medicine and is not at all discouraged or deterred by a wound or injury. She loves to be front and center for all of it.  And she got the cutest doctor's kit for Christmas so she put it to good use. Every morning, before Corey headed off to work, Audrey would bound out of bed, throw her stethoscope around her neck, and (bed head and all) treat Corey's surgical site.  At first I was her assistant and trimmed the gauze and tape to the right size.  Within a few days, though, she was doing that, too.  When it came time for Corey to have it checked at the dermatologist a few weeks later he commented on how well it had healed and what a good job Corey had done keeping it clean.  At first the doctor didn't believe Corey when he told him his six year old did it!

Look at that serious face.  This kid means business.
