Natalie received her first pair of roller skates from Nana and Papa Franc for her birthday and has been practicing in the driveway. I learned the hard way NOT to wear flip flops while helping her as she must have rolled over my toes a dozen times that first day. But she's doing great and Audrey loves watching from the stroller. Gotta love the protective wear! It's amazing how we all survived our helmet-less, knee pad-less childhoods.
And in I-can't-believe-this-child-is-almost-walking-on-her-own news, Audrey's new wheels are on a walker toy retrieved from our attic. With very little encouragement, she got busy using it. She now walks from one end of the house to the other using her walker but every time she hits an obstacle that brings her to a halt she screams, wails and cries until we free her and send her on her way again. It's pretty comical how little patience this kid has for road blocks and traffic jams considering she's from Phoenix! It's a bit of a jerky, straight leg walk with not much bend at the knee and done primarily on tip toes but what she lacks in grace she makes up for in speed and determination.
