Christmas Cookies

Natalie had her preschool Christmas party yesterday and, much to her disappointment, the cookies that the parent volunteer brought in had nuts in them.  Her school performed a Christmas concert in the church prior to the party so by the time I finished watching the other classes sing carols, her party was well underway back in her classroom.  I entered the room to find the rest of the kids happily munching on green, sparkly, Christmas tree shaped sugar cookies while my sad little Natalie ate graham crackers.  I promised her we'd make cookies at home that afternoon.  And we did.

Even Audrey got in on the action.
She sorted sugar sprinkle containers until we realized she knew how to open them.

Natalie rolled and cut all of these.  Pretty impressive.
Looks like "picture face" will still be with us for the holidays.
Audrey got to roll dough using the play-doh roller.
We skip the frosting on sugar cookies and go straight to the sprinkles.
I'm pretty sure this grin means "I just ate a large chunk of raw cookie dough!"
Natalie could bake all day every day.
This was some very warm and well loved dough by the last batch so the cookies spread to about twice their size when cooked but they still looked cute.
